Two Adult Volunteers Needed

LDADR requires two adult volunteers to represent our association and advocate on behalf of students with Learning Disabilities at the Durham District School Board SEAC (Special Education Advisory Committee).

One volunteer is the representative and the other is the alternate.

SEAC meets the third Thursday of every month from September through to June. Meetings start at 6: 30 pm and are held at the School Board offices on Taunton Rd, Whitby.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn about how Special Education works in our Board and to participate in decisions affecting students with Learning Disabilities.

To prepare you for the role, Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario offers an excellent online course and ongoing support through monthly bulletins. You will need to become a member of LDADR to fulfill these roles.

If you would like more information , please contact our office by email. Hellen, the current SEAC REPRESENTATIVE will respond on return from her vacation. Feel free to forward this to others who may be interested.
